Simple Detox After the Holidays

Last time we talked about destressing after the holidays. You can find that blog post HERE.

Now let’s talk about how to detox after the holidays.

Most of us make some changes in our diet during the holidays – and rarely for the better. That coffee cake looks too good to resist. The pumpkin pie smells just like mom used to make. Grandma’s stuffing melts in the mouth.

Just one more helping…

Then we sit and “let it digest”.

Well, that phase is over, and it’s time to get our health back in order.

Here are two simple changes to make:

  • Cut the carbs. I set aside 21 days to eliminate all sugars and all breads from my diet. (Now, for transparency’s sake, I did continue eating fruit.) So I did not eliminate all sugars. This helps change our body chemistry to burn calories and give my body biochemical space to detoxify.
  • Increase water intake. This gives our bodies a means to flush out the toxins. To help make water intake easier, I put a small dollop of cherry juice in my water bottle.

It’s a new year. Time to clean house, set your chemistry in order, and take your health back in hand.

All the best to you in this new year. We are here to help you get well and stay well.
